| It felt like time for a change. So I cracked open Photoshop and lost sleep. I haven't made much progress on the writing front, however, which is a pity. And I'm terrible at new year resolutions, so if I'm going to write myself out of this rut I will need to be disciplined. That will be challenge for me :). In the meantime, 'Prey For Day and Other Stories' is free on Amazon today. Just click here to pick up your copy. Give it a read and let me know what you think about. |

There's snow outside my window. That means hot cocoa and curling up with three of writing projects while I ponder where the hell 2013 went. Book Bit #1 (Untitled Pre-dystopian novel)Had Isaac been born here, London City might seem far less captivating. He could look past the glimmer and easily see the grime. Book Bit #2 (Untitled Paranormal series)Gabriel watched Reese from his high seat. She chopped off her hair again. This time into a girlish pixie cut. He liked it. He smiled. Then he dropped his eyes to the report in front of him, skimming the top page and considering that Reese might’ve made the drastic change in an attempt to age her appearance. She still looked like the young witch he met five years ago. Wide-eyed, beautiful and dangerously beguiling. But she carried herself like a true hereditary witch now. Book Bit #3 (Prey For Day: Revelations)The vampire walked in, darkness stalking his back and him reveling inside Panama City’s noise and heat. The door shut, the chimes quit and the sound of nothingness reclaimed the narrow space of his shop. Noel took two steps forward into the florescence. He looked just as Six remembered him. Their eyes met for a long, silent pause before he felt his fingers moving again, his gaze returning to the cut piece of wool in his lap. Sorcerers of the Nightwing - Geoffrey HuntingtonA recommendation from @SJHollis. I'm a sucker for anything that even mentions the word Nightwing, so this was a no-brainer. Also, Geoffrey has one of the best bios on Amazon. The Hand That Feeds - Michael W. Garza
Zombies, spaceships AND DRAGONS!!! I had to check this one out. The ReadsSo these are my reads for this week. Tomorrow I'll post my new purchases. I'm Starved For You - Margaret Atwood
I purchased this a mouth ago, but haven't had time to read it until now. This is a Kindle Singles title so I believe it's exclusive to Amazon. Enjoying it so far. This is so random, but I woke up the other morning with this fuzzy thought in my head. It must've been a remnant of a dream I was having. Anyway, I thought a poll on the internet might be a good way to shake the thought or flesh out the idea. Supernatural beings living amongst humans. Vengeful angels. Worlds with no hope. 'Prey For Day and Other Stories' is a collection of four spine-tingling and thought-provoking tales. Devour these wicked treats from author Joss L. Riley. In this debut publication, Joss introduces you to four of her bravest characters as they face uncertainty and doom. Born a vampire in a world where supernaturals no longer have to hide their existence, Eva lives with a secret dangerous enough to threaten the tenuous balance between her kind and humanity in the title story, 'Prey For Day'. In 'The Dreadful Death of Dark Midnight', be careful what you pray for. The angels of the Black Paternoster may be listening. Take a glimpse into bleak futures, where nature rebels against itself and humanity is at the mercy of the elements in the flash fiction stories: 'Black Rains' and 'No Dawn Again'.
